The Bitter End

The Bitter End

And here is the promised “continuity” strip. The aftermath of the nuclear blast that rocked the field when Harbor freed Robinson. It isn’t pretty. Remember the gallows from strip 35?

I don’t normally take things to this level, but I thought it would be good to do a bit of black comedy and explore what might of happened if the consequences of our friend’s escape actually had to be dealt with.

But worry not – this isn’t going to be a permanent part of the story. Everything will be back to normal on Monday. I couldn’t keep this up for long anyway – just drawing this strip put me out of sorts.

  1. Ian says:

Oh, and it was indeed Belly who unleashed the nuclear blast. Eggnog is just too mild-mannered for that sort of thing.

  2. Anonymous (Not Really) says:

Well, Mr. Stinky seems to be a fan of assited suicide…

  3. Stuffgamer1 says:

“We are not built for such an end.”
    Hilarious! :D

  4. Deskman says:

So how would he pull the trigger? Telepathy?

  5. "NEW CHALLENGER" (APPROACHING) says:

    ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….Please…don’t do this ever again.

  6. "NEW CHALLENGER" (APPROACHING) says:

Wait, it semms my last comment glitched up… *ahem*…………………..Please…don’t do this ever again.

  7. Ian says:

Don’t worry – I don’t plan on it. It was something I wanted to do, just once, but I found that it made me sad just drawing the strip. Alabaster will be fine on Monday. :D

  8. Mum says:

What a helpful chap Mr. Stinky has turned out to be! I do believe they would explode into a puff of fluff.

  9. Ian says:

He does have reason to dislike them, I think – after all, he was the one stuck pulling the house when they scared Robinson away.

There’s always the matter of neither Mr. Stinky nor the Puffs having hands – Flying Man would have to fire the gun, and it doesn’t seem he approves.

  10. Earlz says:

    Mr. Stinky is packin’

  11. TIE GUY says:

This reminds me of cyanide and happiness… and it’s sick.

  12. mrgameandpie says:

I bet Mr. Stinky could just revive everything with his will alone, or make doughnuts fall from the sky again, that would cheer things up.

  13. Mad Hatter says:

Another reason why Mr Stinky may dislike the balls of puff: Flying Man and him had to eat his cheese when Robinson was taken by the Puffs.

Poor Alabaster- and where on earth does Mr Stinky get all these things? Did he steal the gun from Platy the same way he stole Platy’s house?

  14. G says:

This is very dark. I agree that we need more donuts. Donuts make a better apocalypse!

    Someone oughta market that.

    But anyway,
The affects seem to be latent. The scenery was just fine in the last comic.

    Oh, Mr. Stinky.

  15. ChibiChump says:

mr. stinky…didn’t really fire that did he? Well i hope not he would be sued for it if he did.
    probably.

  16. TIE GUY says:

While I was playing mario kart wii, I got hit by a blue shell AND hit by lightning simultaneosly.
    Coincidence..
    NO

  17. L.B. says:

Such destruction! And wouldn’t a bullet just go through a ball of fluff and not do any damage?

  18. Ian says:

G: The effects of the blast are localized – not all of the winter wonderland was destroyed.

  19. Stuffgamer1 says:

Some nuclear blast THAT was, then…lousy “localized” blast radius. :P

  20. Xiegfried says:

Oh dear….This is certainly a bleak peak into the dark world that could have been Flying Man and Friends.

  21. Audrey Marquis says:

I do find this HILARIOUS. And the faces on the puffs at their fate. hahaha….does that make me evil?

  22. Leah_The_Hippie says:

“Mr.Stinky, that was UNCALLED for…” Golden comedy! So, Mr.Stinky, the evil…Doughnut Bone King?!?!

  23. Ian says:

I am glad you approve! :D

  24. Air says:

HHHHMMMM.. not enough blood and gore

  25. Air says:

    ……Just kidding

  26. Ian says:

    I was going to say.

  27. tazx0 says:

i quite like the dark turn this set of humour panels take.
